Visit Nairobi National Park where animals move around the park while marveling at large city buildings at only 7kilometres away from the city. The key attraction in the park are Rhinos, cheetahs, lions, buffaloes, hippos, elands, wildebeests, zebras, giraffe, leopards and several antelope species. Over 400 species of birds can be spotted in the park.

Visit the Giraffe Centre in Nairobi is the only breeding Centre for the endangered Rothschild giraffe in East Africa.  If you want to get close and personal with these majestic creatures, then you should visit this Centre. The Centre takes care of the giraffes until they are old enough to be released into the national parks. Visiting the Centre and paying the small entrance fee is one way of contributing towards the conservation of the giraffes giving you the opportunity to feed them while touching their chin and tongues.

visit the Kenyatta Mausoleum – The resting place for Kenya’s first president Jomo Kenyatta or the statue of Tom Mboya. Continue to the War Memorial Cemetery built to remember all Kenyan soldiers who died during the World war. Visit Hell’s Gate National Park named after a narrow cliff/gorge within its boundaries. It is found outside the city of Nairobi and stands out for its remarkable scenery. Among the wildlife found in the park are Zebras, Giraffes, warthogs, various species of antelopes and Leopards. The key activities in the park are nature walks, jogging, hiking and mountain biking. One can also hike all the way up to Hell’s Gate Gorge.

Visit Karura Forest an urban forest in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. The forest was gazetted in 1932 and is managed by the Kenya Forest Service in conjunction with the Friends of Karura Forest Community Forest Association. The forest is open to all visitors who share a love for nature and common respect for Kenya’s unspoilt natural beauty. You get to enjoy nature walks, jogging, bird watching, mountain biking, tennis, picnic sites, tree planting among other activities.

Visit Kiambethu Farm at Limuru providing a tranquil insight into life on a settler farm. Situated at 7,200 ft., Kiambethu was bought and farmed by AB McDonell in 1910. He was a pioneer in the tea industry being one of the first to make and sell tea commercially in Kenya – now one of Kenya’s largest exports. The farm house is set within beautiful gardens surrounded by acres of tea and indigenous forest a home to the Colobus monkey.
